About Remark

Remark Glass was established in 2016 as our small team set out to change the course of glassblowing and design as much product from waste material as we can.

Over time, we saw a much greater need to solve the recycling issue at hand and hence Bottle Underground was born.

Our Mission

By creating small batch home accessories from post-consumer bottle glass, we aim to build a more sustainable artform and manufacturing practice that simultaneously reduces glass waste on a local level.

Our Zero Waste Process

Every piece starts with a bottle.

Our sister non-profit, Bottle Underground, collects bottles and jars from local businesses and community members. A portion of the glass is selected for Remark Glass then cleaned, cut, heat, and reshaped into a treasure for your home.

Clean and delabel the used bottles

Cut and finish prepping for reheating

We employ practices that minimize waste and benefit the local community

Reuse discarded cardboard and packaging materials from other companies

Participate in fair chance hiring

Recycle operational waste, such as bottle caps, through local recycling partner Rabbit Recycling

Our People

We are a small team of like-minded individuals who share a passion for glass, care deeply for our planet, and proudly call Philadelphia our home.
